Bryce
Schumann
has
been
named
chief
executive
officer
of
the
American
Angus
Association
(AAA).
The
Kansas
State
University
graduate
and
Lecompton
resident
will
assume
the
position
June
13.
AAA
is
the
world’s
largest
beef
breed
organization,
with
more
than
36,000
regular
and
junior
members.
“In
making
its
final
selection,
the
board
had
the
opportunity
to
choose
from
among
the
best
leaders
the
beef
industry
has
to
offer,”
said
AAA
President
Paul
Hill,
a
cattle
producer
from
Bidwell,
OH.
“Bryce’s
training
in
business
management
combined
with
his
experience
in
all
segments
of
the
association
business
made
him
the
choice
candidate
for
CEO.”
Schumann
will
serve
as
chief
administrative
officer
and
vice
chairman
of
the
board
of
directors
for
each
of
the
association’s
subsidiaries.
These
include
Angus
Productions,
Certified
Angus
Beef
(CAB),
Angus
Genetics
and
the
Angus
Foundation.
He
will
be
responsible
for
overseeing
about
200
employees.
He
joined
the
association
in
2000
as
director
of
activities.
Schumann
was
named
director
of
member
services
and
office
management
in
April
2001.
Before
joining
the
AAA
staff,
Schumann
served
as
assistant
director
of
feeder-packer
relations
for
the
CAB
Supply
Development
Division.
He
