Western Kansas Irrigation Inc. will conduct a come-and-go demonstration of its mobile education water lab July 9 at Irsik & Doll Feed Yard (8220 E Hwy 50) near Garden City. The mobile lab will highlight the latest in water filtration technology, with demonstrations that involve processing feedyard lagoon water through multiple types and sizes of filters. Users will experience firsthand how each filter works and see the results of this water reclamation process.
Groundwater is the lifeline of western Kansas. Water reclamation should be a promising solution to increasing the number of times a gallon of water removed from the aquifer can be used, offering hope for a sustainable future.
The mobile lab will be open for demonstrations from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Jas Dale, CAFO division director, and other Western Kansas Irrigation Inc. team members will be on-site to answer questions. Directional signs will be posted beginning at the main feedyard entrance.
